It’s our ‘oh-so-cute’ cat Linux. It’s soooooo cold, why on earth would he not be under the covers?

So cute!

Yes, I am sick in bed with flu, and highly frustrated. I hate being sick. But sometimes it’s just what your body actually needs to recover. Recover from what you ask? Well from the hectic lives we live, from being extremely busy, from lack of sleep, from whatever may be going on in our lives.
Being sick is the perfect time to catch up on some reading, and cuddle in bed all day with my dog and cat (Matt is keeping his distance as he too has just recovered from the flu). So as soon as I started getting sick I got given a home remedy from a client that I thought sounded way too good to not try.
Ginger, freshly squeezed lemon, raw honey and water. All boiled up together to make the perfect hot toddy. I have to admit it is really yummy and so I have been drinking this every night before bed. It hasn’t seemed to work though as I still became sick and am now actually on antibiotics to prevent myself from becoming more of a moaner. Even though the ginger remedy didn’t work, it tastes really good and can only be healthy so I’m keeping up the nightly toddy - it’s so relaxing.

This is not all that has been added to my nightly routine. I have also started steaming my face - every night. It is so relaxing and you feel so clean and fresh after doing this.

I then get into my nice warm bed, with newly purchased electric blanket, and read a good book, drink my home remedy ginger juice and eat some yummy chocolate.

Despite all the disgusting tissues, the time off and the fact that I am forced to stay in bed is doing me some good. Other than the fact that I feel rotten and am sore and constantly tired I think this is the rest my body truly needs.

This morning started off early. No really early. Woke up at 4.30, left at 5am, got stuck in traffic (now this is very unusual for a Saturday morning - when it’s still dark out).
At the end though, even with the judges being late too, all went well. My students performed 16 dances in less than 45 minutes. Most of the dancers dancing in at least 2 items too. This means quick changes and over all chaos!
Clothes fell off, backstage and center stage. Clothes fell apart. Make-up was a rush. But it worked and through all of this I did not get one photo. I am so disappointed about that!
This is the first time that my dancers took part in a closed competition like this -meaning only them and the judges were allowed into the hall. Even the poor teacher (me) could not watch. At the end of the day though (8am) this was the best thing out as the few sneak peaks I did get left me so stressed out.
Well done to all my lovely dancers. you worked very hard towards this and hard work always pays off. Now go rest! Go baby your injuries. No stressing, we will fix all broken clothes before next weekend. I love you all.
One of my students started his blog yesterday and for me it is so great to read his side of the story.

This year has been filled with new beginnings for me in so many ways. I love new things, whether they are goodies for me or new happenings in my life, I happen to like the new.
So firstly I started my own studio (Studio of Motion), which is turning out to be a great success. A very welcomed thing as I have worked my but off to get here.
Matt and I moved in together, into a very nice little place - stunning, safe, and comfy. We got a kitten, named Linux, as our dog Grishko was way too lonely on her own. The two of them love each other and spent all morning cuddling through the storm - very cute.

I have also now started my own line of dance clothes available on order. Online shop coming soon, but not rite now as there are only so many hours in a day. However, here are a few of the items in the shop. I would also like to say thanks to my friend Kat for being my model for these clothes.
